Informa completes Mobius manager-database merger

Performance tracker's new Mobius and PSN investment manager database. Informa Investment Solutions has completed the merger of its own PSN asset-manager database with a similar offering from Mobius, creating the largest separately managed account database available.

Earlier this year Informa acquired M-Solutions, formerly known as the Mobius Group, from CheckFree Investment Services. The newly merged database has information on more than 2,000 investment management firms and 10,000 investment products.

"Not only will we be delivering added value to our clients by providing more data and information on more managers than any other database in the marketplace today, but we are also reducing the workload of the participating managers who will now only provide data to one organization rather than two," says Margaret Tobiasen, Informa Investment Solution's head of research.

The merged system is available through Informa's enterprise technology platform as well as third-party systems.

Informa's database was initially called Plan Sponsor Network because it was intended for institutional investors. But as the system has come to be used by managers, consultants, brokers and others, the name was changed to PSN.
